The Chicago Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants encompasses those that work, study, and/or live in the city of Chicago and its nearby suburbs. This is an active chapter of approximately 500 that provides education and networking opportunities for its members.

New CMA Exam Format
On November 24, 2009, ICMA announced a change to the format and curriculum of the CMA exam program, beginning May 1, 2010. To ensure that the CMA remains the most appropriate designation for accountants and financial professionals in business, the Institute of Certified Management Accountants (ICMA) announced a change to the format and curriculum of the CMA exam program. Beginning May 1, 2010, the CMA exam will consist of a two-part format focusing on the critical skills of financial planning, analysis, control and decision support. Testing for the current four-part CMA exam format will continue through December 31, 2010.

Fox River Valley IMA Chapter Event
The Fox River Valley
IMA Chapter will be hosting a 4-hour Professional Development
Session on
Saturday, March
10th.
The subject matter
will be: Verbal/Nonverbal
Communications: A Workshop on (Mis)perceptions of Self and
Others and the presenter will
be Chris Miller of College
of DuPage (Bio below). Chris
has presented communications topics with the FRV Chapter previously and is
always very well received!
Registration and
Continental Breakfast will begin at 8AM; the session will begin at 8:30A and run
until 12P. The session will be held at the Naperville Municipal Building, 400 S.
Eagle St. (Naperville, IL).
